IF YOU ARE UP FOR A ROLE:
There is nothing as important as an audition. It pays to be prepared. Put simply preparation leads to confidence which leads to relaxation. That should be the goal for an actor at an audition. There will always be an element of nerves beacause we care. The rest can be taken of by hard work, by fully understanding the nuts and bolts of the script and the character, which is exactly what Liam can help with. There is no magic wand but he can help find things that might ordinarliy not be visible. He has years of practise in reading and analysing scripts, in looking for the things that are not obvious. Like any creative process colaberation is key. He works to bring out best of the script and the best of you, so you can nail the audition and get the job.
IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL:
Liam has been working with young people for many years and has extensive knowledge and experience with getting them accepted and ready for drama schools such as, RADA, Drama Centre, Rose Bruford and LAMDA.
SELF TAPES
Getting help with a self tape is something you can't afford not to do. As an actor myself I know how tempting it can be to just knock one up and that may work sometimes. But again, like with auditions it pays to be prepared. Typically with a tape I would study the script for you in advance of the session and then after you have laid down on tape what you have prepared I will give some notes and opionins and then we would go again giving you the chance to have something differnt. One of the biggest flaws in taping alone is that you end up with six runs of the scene that are almost the same each time. With some personalised notes you will have something different each time, which will help you to decide which edit is best.
Then there are the technical aspects, getting the slate right, getting rid of those pesky shadows, getting the lighting just right and so on. All of which I will take care of so you can focus on the important thing, getting the job.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
This covers a wide range of training aspects. From the unique and renowned 'Character Analysis' and old school Lee Strasberg techniques, to new ideas from Susan Batson and yes even myelf. This is really an opertunity to go deeper into the craft. In order to do that we would colaborate finding the best way to develop your understanding of character, specifically, and the craft of acting as a whole. To do that we would draw on a number of different techniques and ideas, finding what works best for you and how you work best.
